In the new scene of his ‘Journey for Craft’ series, Questlove talked with punk legend Patti Smith, and he lets TheMagazineCity know how this conversation featured the inventive psyche’s relationship with time.
There’s a second in scene three of Quest for Craft when Questlove asked his visitor, Patti Smith, how “it feels to play, or share new work that you’re chipping away at now, from your heart, versus melodies [that] have matured like a fine wine and are wistful to your crowd. Patti, 74, conceded that “as of late, I haven’t composed that numerous tunes, honestly.” But, the troublemaker symbol told Questlove, 50, that she was happy with addressing the past. “I just sing melodies, regardless of whether they’re mine or any other individual’s, that I’m in contact with, that I need to sing. I have my work. I have my companions. What’s more, I have each day, a novel, new thing, something intriguing – a groundbreaking idea, a novel thought, another line, another book that somebody composes, another piece of music… we need to simply be appreciative for the little things, be thankful for being alive.”
